As a backup singer and dancer for Tina Turner since 1999, Solange has been on numerous world tours, performed at the Super Bowl in 2000, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The American Music Awards, The View and Ally McBeal among others. Solange has performed with Cher and Destiny’s Child and was a backup dancer for Beyonce at the Grammy Awards. Solange attended the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York where she obtained an Independent Study Program certificate in 1997. In 1995, she graduated from the Geneva Conservatory of Music (Switzerland) where she studied for 10 years under the direction of Gilbert Mayer from the Paris Opera. She went on to win two gold medals and one bronze in Ballet in Swiss nationals as well as one gold medal in Jazz. That same year, In France, she obtained her Diploma (Baccalaureat) of General University Entrance Examination in Arts and Literature. As a Jazz and Ballet Instructor for the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique in Geneva, Switzerland, Solange is now glad to bring her expertise to Steamboat Springs! She has been working for Elevation Dance Studio since 2011 and has served as a ballet, Horton and locking teacher. In addition to her instruction, she has directed The Nutcracker in 2012, 2013, 2014 as well as The Wiz in 2015. Solange is now thrilled to serve as Elevation's Ballet Master.
